President's Message

Hello,

Thank you for taking the time to look at the website and for participating in our league. GMLB has been around for more than 50 years and we feel that we provide a very useful outlet for youth sports in many respects.

I have been involved for 5 years at GMLB and now have the opportunity to reside as President of the league with a very good Board of Directors. We know that going forward there are many challenges and most of them can be overcome with participation from parents, grandparents, and friends. Please get involved, it will make a large impact on your children, and your community, but most of all, it will make an impact on you!

We can always use help around the fields, this year we have decided to purchase a field rake that will allow us to maintain our fields in the best, safest condition possible with what we have. In lieu of this we have decided not to continue our contract with the lawn mowing service but to do it ourselves. This will allow us to payback the new purchase in one year! So if you feel you have the time some days to spend a few hours mowing please contact me.

We also are working on enacting a new policy on bullying. We feel that it has no place here on the fields and especially during the summer, when school is not in session. There has been a very large and important push thru the school systems to get a handle on bullying and we want to help continue that over the summer. It will also be implemented into the tournament at the end of the season.

Most of all, Have fun with the kids! Educate them about baseball and life, participate in their lives and be present! I look forward to meeting many new families this year and seeing the old ones returning!

PLAY BALL!
