Off-Season

Off-Season, Sandlot, Evaluations and more

GMLB News

Hello everyone, we are in the middle of the offseason, but wanted to update everyone with some upcoming items. the season is winding down and this week is the final week of the playoffs!

What’s Next?

Sandlot continues each week on Tuesday nights at 5:30PM. Lunt 2. (Please follow facebook in case of cancelations due to weather or other reasons). Sandlot will go through to the end of August.

Player evaluations:

We are looking to make some changes to our player evaluations, the largest being that we will be doing player evaluations at the end of summer, likely at the end of September on the weekends. There are many reasons to do this but evaluating players now will allow us to see them now while they are fresh from the season or tournament season. Rather than see them in January/February, when they have not batted or picked up a ball in a while. We will still hold a smaller winter evaluation for new players or players that did not make our September evaluations.

Please be on the lookout for posting of the official September evaluation times and dates. I hope to post them in Mid-Late August.(Hopefully).

Board Members and other Volunteers:

As happens every year, board members decide not to return (especially those with players aging out), so each year we look for more board members (either as part of the 13 board members, or just voting members). Feel free to come to our next board meeting if you are interested in learning more. New board members can officially join in the first board meeting of the new baseball season which will happen in September.

This year we are especially looking for help with our concessions and a new secretary for the board (Not necessarily the same person, or even 1 especially with concessions)….. If you have experience in these areas, please email Jeremy at gmlbsuhl@gmail.com for more details about helping/joining the board……. Amy C has been doing a fabulous job the last several years and is looking to pass the torch to a next generation on the board, as it will be her son’s last year in the league.

Tournament Teams:

We are also looking to make changes to our tournament teams in the next GMLB season. Possible changes could include picking the teams/tryouts this year, winter practices, hosting tournaments, attending more trounmanets and possibly more. Look for updates shortly after the new GMLB season in September.

Please be on the lookout for posting of the official evaluation times and dates.

Coaches Please make sure you have completed your 2024 team evaluations Contact jeremy if you have questions..
