Practices started and Schedule soon

Practices started and Schedule out soon

GMLB News

Hello everyone, practices for the 2025 season have begun! Thank you to everyone that had registered and thank you to all the Coaches that are volunteering their time.

A few notes on the season, and a few other items.

  • I hope to have the season schedule by next week. Be on the lookout for that. Opening day is scheduled (weather dependent) for Saturday April 19th.
  • Thank you to everyone that participated in our Bingo Night. Thanks to all that volunteered to work, and the numerous people that donated raffle items. We raised the most we have done in the last 5 years! If you were not able to go, you can always donate on our website: Donate
  • It’s time to start selling Opening Day Raffle Tickets to support our league! Each player is required to sell 12 tickets in order to receive their jersey. If you’d like to sell more, go for it—but your first 12 tickets and money must be turned in first.

Tickets are $5 each
$1,000 in Cash Prizes!
The player who sells the most wins Red Sox tickets!

Deadline to turn in tickets & money: Wednesday, April 16th
Drawing: Opening Day Ceremony on Saturday, April 19th

Coaches will NOT be collecting ticket stubs & money. These must be turned in at the concession stand during open hours:
Next week the Concession Stand Drop-Off Times will be:
Saturday, 3/29 – 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM
Tuesday, 4/1 – 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM
Wednesday, 4/2 – 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM
Friday, 4/4 – 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM

Sunday, 4/6 - 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM

Future times will be posted on Facebook

  • Concessions Stand:

Each year, we NEED volunteers to help in the Snack Shack concessions stand and with keeping the bathrooms clean. Both are super easy tasks and provide much-needed support to the league!

In the Snack Shack, you will be shown what to do—most items are grab-and-go, with a few that simply go in the microwave. Pricing is simple and straightforward, and if your child plays on Lunt 3, you'll have a great view of the whole game while helping out. For the bathrooms, cleaning can ideally be done towards the end of the night. There are only two, and all supplies will be available for wiping down surfaces and restocking toiletries.

The electronic scheduler for sign-ups is not ready yet, but as soon as it is, the link will be shared. The first volunteer opportunities will be on Opening Day, April 19th, so stay tuned! Each player must have a family member/guardian volunteer for at least two shifts throughout the season. Sign up for any time that works for you, even on days your player is not playing.

If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to gmlbsecretary@gmail.com. Thank you for volunteering your time—looking forward to a fun and successful season! (Please note that volunteers are needed each gameday, and if nobody has volunteered, a parent from each team on Lunt 3 will be pulled to do it. That game will not start until that happens, but if everyone volunteers on Sign-up, we rarely run into this)

  • Springfield Thunderbirds: We have another GMLB Thunderbirds night coming up:

4.11 - Greenfield Minor League Baseball - Formstack Right before opening day!!!

  • At the nest board meeting, Thursday April 7th, we have 3 spots on our Board open and will be considering anyone that wants to join the board at that time. The commitment would be for the remaining board season until August/September when a new board is elected each yet. (I will be posting on this on Facebook as well).
  • While we don’t have many complaints each season, and hope for a smooth season, should you run into an issue, please follow our complaint procedures which are posted online: GMLB_Complaint_Procedures.pdf

Good Luck to all the players this season.
